There are many beaches all over the world. What makes one beach better than the next? Mostly it is preference, what you are looking for when
you head to the beach. There are 24 beaches in the municipality of Nerja over 27 kilometres of coastline. Nerja is considered a place for the
rich and famous to take vacations or have private homes. Before 1954 Nerja was a small town of 900 inhabitants. The inhabitants fished the waters
and now with resorts and many water activities, there are over one hundred thousand inhabitants, most of them work at the resorts.
The Nerja beaches are filled with thick golden sand to walk comfortably on. Most water activities on any of the beaches will include
snorkelling, water skiing, and windsurfing. If you are not interested in water activities, you might find the many resort golf courses to your
liking. There are also a number of clubs, restaurants, and bars along the beaches for your entertainment. Most of the beaches are considered high
tourist traffic areas, though some of the lesser-known beaches will afford you the privacy you seek. There are even a few beaches that have
promenades so you can walk along the beach without getting in the sand and surf.
All of the beaches of Nerja have lifeguards on duty during the summer season. The community also takes pride in keeping the beaches clean.
There is a daily maintenance service that goes around the beaches to keep them in shape for the many tourists. Nerja beaches also have public
toilets and showers.
The beaches range is size as well. Some of the beaches are as larges as 60 meters while others are 1 meter in length. Width also changes
depending on the beach; they can be 50 meters in width or less. You can get some quite cheap Nerja Villas these days too if you look hard.
Not only are there restaurants on the beaches, but also a lot of hotels are built right on the edge of the beach. The Don Carlos and Romana
Playa Hotel are just two of the many hotels you should inquire about when deciding where to stay on your vacation.
Whatever activity you would like to enjoy Nerja beaches will have them. The waters are kept pristine as well as the beaches themselves. You
will find windsurfing, snorkelling, and water skiing as just some of the activities to enjoy. The hotels available usually have a golf course if
you decide to take a few moments from the surf.
